The West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) 2022 examinations have been extended till April 26. The exams were earlier scheduled to end on April 20. The HS exams will begin as scheduled earlier on April 26.

The exam dates for Chemistry, Statistics, Economics and some other subjects have been changed. The schedule for Class XI examinations remains unchanged.

“The HS exam will begin on April 2 as scheduled but the dates of certain papers, slated for April-end, have been revised,” said Chiranjib Bhattacharya, the president of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), which conducts the Class XII board exams.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting JEE-Main between April 16 and 21.

The exam dates for the Commercial Law, Preliminaries of Auditing, Philosophy and Sociology group have been deferred from April 13 to April 18 since this subject combination does not have any JEE candidates.

The Chemistry, Journalism and Mass Communication, Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic and French exam dates have been brought forward from April 16 to April 13 for the benefit of JEE Main candidates.

In the Statistics, Geography, Costing and Taxation, Home Management and Family Resource Management group, students who have taken Statistics may have Physics, Chemistry and Maths and may have applied for JEE Main. The exams have thus been postponed from April 18 to April 25.

The Economics exam will be held on April 26 instead of April 20 since some students with Economics may also have Physics and Maths and may have opted for JEE Main Paper 2A and Paper 2B for admission to BArch and B Planning, respectively.
