The West Bengal Education Department launched its long-anticipated centralised undergraduate admission portal on June 19. The new system allows students to apply to a maximum of 25 courses simultaneously, choosing from 7,217 different courses across 16 universities and 461 government and government-aided colleges. The registration process has officially commenced today, June 24.
Before registration, applicants can scroll down the website homepage to see the ‘Pre-Login’ options, where they will get detailed information about the admission steps, institution details, subject/course combination availability, fee structure, seat matrix, eligibility criteria, and merit indexing rules.
Eligibility
Candidates who have qualified for the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised board/council/equivalent body.
Easy Steps for Applying
- Visit the official website at wbcap.in.
- Click on the ‘Register Now’ link to complete registration to obtain login credentials.
- Login and proceed to create your profile by entering the required information.
- Check eligibility for your preferred courses/programmes.
- Add the course/programme to your preference list and rank them according to your preference.
Candidates will be able to edit/modify the data in their profile as well as their course preference till the application deadline, i.e., July 7.
Documents Required for Registration
- Class 10th and 12th mark sheet (pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc certificate, if applicable (pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- PwD certificate, if applicable (pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- Identity and age proof document (pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- ‘Banglar Siksha’ ID, if available (pdf format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- Candidate’s photograph (JPG/JPEG/PNG format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
- Candidate’s signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG format with a maximum size of 1 MB).
- Candidate’s/Guardian bank account number along with IFSC code.
- Cheque leaf/passbook/bank account statement (JPG/JPEG/PNG format with a maximum size of 2 MB).
A helpline (18001028014) and an email support system (support@wbcap.in) have been established to assist students throughout the application process. Additionally, training videos are also available on the portal.
