The second round of Upper Primary counselling conducted by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has begun today, October 4, with 110 candidates set to attend. This follows the first round of counselling held on October 3, during which 102 out of 144 candidates received their job allotments. However, 41 candidates were either absent or dissatisfied with the available school options, leaving their positions unfilled.
Counselling Schedule
- October 4, 2024 - History (Medium - Hindi, Nepali, Urdu), Nepali (Medium - Nepali), Geography (Medium - English, Hindi, Urdu)
Shortlisted candidates appearing for counselling will have to download their intimation letter from the official website by entering their roll number and date of birth. The counseling process, which is being conducted in multiple phases, is expected to continue with further sessions scheduled for October 24, 28, and 29, 2024.
The candidates had appeared for the State Level Selection Test (SLST) in 2016, with an interview list published in 2019 and a merit list released on October 4 of the same year. However, the process was marred by allegations of irregularities, leading the Kolkata High Court to annul the merit list and order SSC to start the process afresh. The division bench's subsequent rulings and SSC's compliance have culminated in the ongoing counselling process.
After re-publishing the merit list recently, the WBSSC is aiming to complete the counselling process as per the court’s directives.
