Third ranker and Kolkata topper is Saptarshi Mukherjee of The Future Foundation School, Kolkata

The top two rank-holders in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2022 share the same name. Himanshu Sekhar of Central Model School, Barrackpore, was placed first in WBJEE 2022, followed by Himanshu Sekhar of Nirmaan Vidya Jyoti School, Bhanu Nagar, Siliguri, in the second position. Both are CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) students.

The WBJEE 2022 third ranker is Saptarshi Mukherjee of The Future Foundation School, Kolkata. The ISC student is also the topper from Kolkata.

Jahnavi Shaw of South Point School (CBSE) grabbed the fourth rank, while Kaustav Choudhury of Jenkins School (West Bengal Higher Secondary board), Cooch Behar, made it to the fifth position.

Soumyaprabha Dey of Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant High School (HS), Midnapore, was declared the sixth ranker; followed by Debraj Karmakar of DBMS Kadma High School (CBSE), Jamshedpur, in the seventh place.

South Point High School’s Agniddha Dey (CBSE) ranked eighth and Ayan Adhikary of Calcutta Boys’ School (ISC) held the ninth rank.

The 10th position in WBJEE 2022 went to Subhankar Banerjee of Central Model School, Barrackpore (CBSE).

The total number of successful candidates was 80,132. Kolkata and North 24-Parganas produced the best results in WBJEEB 2022.

Among the total number of successful candidates, 41,839 (52.2%) were from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), 22,227 (27.54%) were from CBSE schools and 13,920 students from other boards.

The WBJEE is an entrance examination held at the state level. Students hoping to pursue an undergraduate (UG) degree in Engineering and Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy from government, self-financing or technological institutes in West Bengal need to appear for this examination. Based on the ranks of the candidates, they can gain admission to the over 100 colleges recognised by the WBJEE Board.
