As per details available from the board, more than 11 lakh students, including an estimated 6 lakh boys and around 5 lakh girls, had appeared for Madhyamik 2022 exams at centres across West Bengal from March 7 to March 16. All this was done amid strict COVID-control measures.
The Madhyamik examinations were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, students were assessed on the basis of an evaluation formula curated by the board. Class X students who appeared for the batch of 2022 had attended a major portion of their classes online.
As per the board, candidates had to score a minimum of 175 marks out of 700 in the exams to clear Madhyamik. In each of the seven subjects, a candidate was required to score at least 25 out of 100 to clear a paper.
