The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) commenced the UPSC IES and UPSC ISS registration from yesterday which is 19 April. Candidates can download the UPSC IES/ISS 2023 notification from the official website - upsc.gov.in. Applicants will be able to register for UPSC IES/ISS 2023 till 9 May.
This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 18 posts for Indian Economic Service (IES) and 33 posts for Indian Statistical Service (ISS).
A candidate eligible for the IES must have obtained a postgraduate degree in economics, applied economics, business economics or econometrics, while for the UPSC ISS 2023, a candidate must have obtained a bachelor's degree with statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics as one of the subjects or a masters degree in statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics.
The UPSC IES/ISS notification reads, “Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023.”
UPSC IES, ISS 2023 Application Guidelines
- While filling in the UPSC IES/ ISS application form 2023, the candidate should carefully decide about the choice for the centre for the examination. If any candidate appears at a centre other than the one indicated by the Commission in his/her e-Admission Certificate, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation.
- Incomplete or defective applications shall be rejected.
- Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination.
