This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 18 posts for Indian Economic Service (IES) and 33 posts for Indian Statistical Service (ISS)

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) commenced the UPSC IES and UPSC ISS registration from yesterday which is 19 April. Candidates can download the UPSC IES/ISS 2023 notification from the official website - upsc.gov.in. Applicants will be able to register for UPSC IES/ISS 2023 till 9 May.

This recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 18 posts for Indian Economic Service (IES) and 33 posts for Indian Statistical Service (ISS).

A candidate eligible for the IES must have obtained a postgraduate degree in economics, applied economics, business economics or econometrics, while for the UPSC ISS 2023, a candidate must have obtained a bachelor's degree with statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics as one of the subjects or a masters degree in statistics, mathematical statistics or applied statistics.

The UPSC IES/ISS notification reads, “Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023.”

UPSC IES, ISS 2023 Application Guidelines

  • While filling in the UPSC IES/ ISS application form 2023, the candidate should carefully decide about the choice for the centre for the examination. If any candidate appears at a centre other than the one indicated by the Commission in his/her e-Admission Certificate, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation.
  • Incomplete or defective applications shall be rejected.
  • Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination.
