The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) began the Civil Service Examination -Preliminary (UPSC CSE prelims 2024) application process on its official website- upsc.gov.in. Interested and eligible candidates will have to first register at One Time Registration (OTR) platform and then proceed to fill the form on the official website- upsconline.nic.in.
The recruitment aims to fill approximately 1,056 vacancies which includes 40 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). This year, the commission has asked to follow new guidelines while uploading photographs on the UPSC CSE form 2024. The exam is scheduled to be held on 26 May. Applicants who wish to edit the application should note that the commission will allow corrections for seven days after the registration closes ie. from 6 to 12 March.
UPSC CSE Prelims 2024: Guidelines for Uploading Photograph
- Candidates should not upload a photograph more than 10 days old from the online application process commencement date.
- Name and date on which the photo was taken should be mentioned on the photograph.
- The 3/4th space of the image should have the candidate’s face.
- Appearance of the applicant should match the photograph uploaded at each stage of the exam.
The commission stated that a candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) based on earlier exam results and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to appear in UPSC CSE prelims exam 2024.
