EdTech platform Unacademy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCWD) of Telangana to identify meritorious students from the state and prepare them for competitive exams.
As per the provisions of the MoU, over the course of three years, Unacademy will conduct a series of aptitude tests for meritorious students of Telangana in three phases to cater to the state and central government job exams and college entrance exams.
There are more than 110 communities listed as Backward Classes in Telangana and they are divided into five groups – Group A, B, C, D and E. Under this MoU, 4,500 aspirants will receive the benefits of this scholarship programme, which will offer a one-year Unacademy Plus subscription for competitive exams to the students.
Additionally, all girl students from Telangana who qualify for the aptitude test will receive scholarships under Unacademy’s mega-national programme ‘Shikshodaya’, the company’s national flagship programme to empower five lakh girl students in India through quality education.
All aspirants applying for state government jobs as identified by BCWD and students studying in Classes X, XI, and XII and those in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) colleges are eligible for these tests and scholarships.
