UGC writes to state boards! Asks them to 'encourge' students in taking CUET-UG Exam

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has written a letter to the state school boards urging them to encourge students from these boards to take the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) exam for admission to the central universities.

In its letter to all the state boards, the commission mentioned that CUET (UG) provides a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities or other participating institutes including state universities, deemed and Private Universities across the country.

"I would like to draw your attention to the Public Notice dated 27 February 2024 issued by NTA regarding timelines for the conduct of CUET (UG) - 2024 along with other relevant details. For the academic session 2024-25, CUET (UG) 2024 will be conducted in the Hybrid mode between 15 May and 31 May 2024 in 13 languages. The result for the same is likely to be declared by 30 June 2023. The date(s) may vary depending on the National Election Schedule," said Prof Manish Joshi in his letter to the Chairpersons of all State Boards.

The letter further mentioned that in 2023, nearly 15 lakh students had appeared in the CUET UG exam. The NTA has uploaded a list of the participating universities on its website exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG

The NTA has extended the last date for submission of online applications for CUET UG exam. Now, students will be able to submit their application till March 31 at the official website of NTA.
