Many candidates have raised concerns about the UGC NET answer key released by the NTA, alleging over 60 incorrect answers in subjects like history. The ‘non-refundable challenge fee’ of INR 200 per question has also been criticised as unaffordable for many candidates.
In light of these concerns, the NTA reviewed the exam process and rescheduled the UGC NET exams from their initial June date to a new window between August 27 and September 5, following allegations of a paper leak. The examination was conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode across 83 subjects. The provisional answer keys, along with candidates’ recorded responses and the question paper, were released earlier.
The objections raised by candidates regarding the answer keys will be assessed by subject experts, who will then prepare the final answer key. The UGC NET result will be declared based on this revised key.
In addition to facilitating Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and assistant professor positions, the UGC NET 2024 result will play a crucial role in the admission process for PhD programmes across universities starting from the academic year 2024-25. The NTA will release the UGC NET June 2024 cut-off marks along with the result announcement.
This year, approximately 9 lakh candidates appeared for the UGC NET June 2024 examination, and they are now eagerly awaiting the results.
