M. Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), introduced the syllabus for the undergraduate and postgraduate cyber security programme as part of the commemoration of Cyber Jagrookta Diwas 2022. The cyber security programmes' UG and PG syllabus each have five topics.

Speaking at the event, Kumar stated that this curriculum intends to produce more informed, adaptive, and responsible digital citizens, effectively enhancing a generally healthy cyber security posture and environment. He added that subject matter experts in cyber security, computers, and IT will be invited to teach these courses at the UG and PG levels in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), along with faculty members who are trained in these fields as well as professionals from the business world.
