Uable, an app dedicated to teenage content consumers, has announced the launch of a creator economy programme for Gen-Z content creators and influencers.
Titled Uable Future Creators (UFC), the programme will onboard, groom and empower young creators in diverse fields like art & design, comic creations, education, entertainment, gaming, music, storytelling and science, Uable said in a statement recently.
Over 100 Gen Z creators have already been onboarded by UFC. In the coming 12 months, the company aims to add 1,000 more creators to the programme. Through the programme, the creators can increase their following, find their niche, monetise their content and earn up to Rs 1 lakh worth of benefits.
Through the community-based programme, the creators will learn through collaboration with peers. They will gain a better understanding of how to engage users better through memes, short-form audio and visual content.
Detailed analytics and real-time feedback from the Uable team will be provided to the participants to track the number of followers gained from each post, the number of views the post received, and other important data.
The content creators participating in this programme will be prioritised and promoted on Uable extensively. Through the Uable app, the creators will be able to build their community and gain followers.
Saurabh Saxena, founder and chief executive officer (CEO), Uable, said, “Creator Economy is booming in India with top creators achieving celebrity status, cult following and millions in turnover. Gone are the days when being a creator used to be a side project or only a form of self-expression for teenagers. Many of them see this as a full-time career today and are working hard to stand out from the crowd. With our UFC programme, we aim to identify these top creators and provide them with an avenue to hone their skills, learn from their peers and role models, and understand how they can showcase and monetise their talent better. We are confident that this will help usher in a new breed of young creators who will dominate the entire ecosystem over the next few years.”
In 2017, about 17 million people earned around USD 6.8 billion through content they shared on nine different platforms in the United Stated of America, revealed a study released by Re:create. However, as per a study by Kalaari Capital on the creator economy in India, only 1,50,000 professional content creators effectively monetised their services in 2021.
