The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to release the CBSE class 10 results for the academic year 2023-24. With the exams held from February 15 to March 13, 2024, students are eagerly awaiting their outcomes. As the class 12 exams are set to conclude on April 2, 2024, anticipation is building for both sets of results, expected to be released in May, following previous years’ patterns.

Last year, in 2023, CBSE announced the class 10 results on May 12, reporting a pass percentage of 93.12%. However, this marked a slight decrease from the previous year by 1.28 percentage points. Similarly, the class 12 pass percentage stood at 87.33%, reflecting a downward trend compared to the preceding year.

The dip in pass percentages for both classes from 2021-22 to 2022-23 has been a notable trend. For class 12, there was a significant decline of 5.38%, while for class 10, the pass percentage decreased by 1.28%.

In a significant shift, the board abolished the practice of categorising students into first, second and third divisions based on scores from the 2022-23 academic year. Instead, merit certificates are now awarded to the top 0.1% of students with the highest marks in various subjects.

Statistics revealed that a noteworthy percentage of students achieved exceptional scores. In class 10, 9.04% scored above 90%, with 2.05% surpassing the 95% mark. Similarly, in class 12, 6.80% scored over 90% and 1.36% attained scores exceeding 95%.

Moreover, girls outshone boys in both class 10 and 12 exams. In class 10, 94.25% of girls passed, compared to 92.27% of boys. Among transgender students, the pass percentage stood at 90%. For class 12, 90.68% of girls and 84.67% of boys cleared the exams, with a pass percentage of 60% among transgender students.

Once the results for the academic year 2023-24 are published, students can check the same on the official websites results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in, as well as on the DigiLocker and UMANG apps.
