The Directorate of Government Examination, Tamil Nadu commenced the registration process for the Tamil Nadu NMMS 2023-24 exam. Students can download the Tamil Nadu National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) application on the official website- dge.tn.gov.in.
As per the schedule, the directorate said the students aspiring to appear in the NMMS 2023-23 exam can download the application between 4 and 19 December. The application has to be submitted with the head of the schools by 19 December. Students will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 50 with the application. The Tamil Nadu NMMS exam will be held on 3 February for Class 8 students studying in government and government aided schools recognised by the state government.
NMMS is a scheme of the union government under which 1 lakh scholarships are awarded annually to selected students from Class 9. The students selected in Tamil Nadu NMMS 2023 exam will be given a scholarship of Rs 12,000 per annum. Those appearing in the NMMS exam should be studying in state government, government-aided and local body schools and their family income should be less than Rs 3,50,000.
