The need for communication and entertainment was the focus of a virtual inter-college fest hosted by the NSHM School of Media and Communication.
TIME— The Influence of Media on Entertainment, held from November 12 to 14, included oratory and amateur filmmaking competitions.
The initiative was aimed at engaging students, informing them about various socially relevant issues and encouraging them to take part in opinion-sharing.
Over 3,000 students registered for the virtual event created and curated by NSHM School of Media and Communication and powered by organisations such as Loreto College, Kolkata; and University of Liberal Arts, Bangladesh.
Cecil Antony, chief mentor of NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata, and Durgapur, inaugurated the event. “The NSHM School of Media and Communication has come up with another great event which is so relevant in current times. The audience will not only have a good time but also gain knowledge and be entertained. Several reputable speakers will speak on interesting and vital topics related to the media and entertainment industry."
“The entertainment industry can bank on ethics and values for the greater cause of humanity and society development. This is the time when media and entertainment have to synergise,” said Krishnendu Sarkar, chief, strategy, impact and life skills, NSHM.
