For the recruiting years 2020, 2021, and 2022, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started accepting registrations for the Stenographer Grade C exam. Candidates may register for the SSC Stenographer exam 2023 at ssc.nic.in. For the SSC stenographer exam to fill new openings, the application deadline is October 21.
For a total of 127 positions for the 2020 recruitment year, 134 positions for 2021, and 36 positions for 2022, SSC will conduct the exam in February-March 2024. Parts A, B, and C make up the three sections of the SSC Steno Grade C test.
The two-hour computer-based part A of the exam will be followed by a 40- or 55-minute shorthand skill test in English or Hindi for part B. The review of the candidates' service records will be covered in Part C.
In Delhi, the commission will conduct a small-scale departmental competitive exam to increase the number of applicants for the following positions:
1. Services for Central Secretariat stenographers
2. Branch (B) of the Indian Foreign Service stenographers
3. Military headquarters stenographers are available.
4. Stenographers for the Railway Board secretariat
5. Stenographers with the Indian Election Commission
