The Design Village (TDV), an interdisciplinary, industry- centric design institute based out of Noida, held a space exhibition put together by 5th semester students of the Space and Interior Design course. The primal themes of the exhibition were culled from nature, varying from the tangible to the intangible.
Students showcased their unique concepts on the lines of Light, Movement, Sound, Patterns, Time and Emotion. Prithesh Maru, mentor and facilitator at The Design Village, said, “This year’s exhibitions went beyond the scope and requirements to create spatial experiences using fundamental themes from nature, varying from the tangible to the intangible. Students have created several unique space concepts on the lines of Light, Movement, Sound, Patterns, Time and Emotion. The exhibition saw some very unique design concepts being implemented, evidently revealing the multiple skills students had picked up in past semesters.”
Nithin, a student taking the Space and Interior Design course, spoke about his exhibit, saying, “My installation talks about the triads of the universe and at the centre of it lies time. The primary colors, basic dimensions, shapes, clock hands, etc are connected to each other. Time is a construct of science; nature and philosophy binds them.”
Several faculty members, including The Design Village co-founder Saurabh Gupta, were also present during the exhibition. The Design Village is a college where all fields of design come together for essential interdisciplinary interactions. The institute organises meaningful faculty and student exchanges with international institutes and organizations. It also works closely with the industry and professionals to maintain a strong focus on the real-world relevance and application of design.
