The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi will host the eighth edition of TEDx on December 11.
Technology, Entertainment and Design is the spirit behind the core idea of TED. Since its inception in 1984, TED has been devoted to “ideas worth spreading”. Through local TED-like experiences, the TEDx programme aims to promote conversation and connection. TEDx events are completely planned and coordinated on their own.
The theme of the eighth TEDx session at IIM Ranchi is 'Third Side of the Coin', reflecting the uniqueness and beauty of life. According to the organisers, the third side of the coin represents those who stand apart by doing different things from others. It reflects those who have shown that there is more to life than defeats and victories.
“Our objective is to bring together brilliant minds to present thought-provoking speeches on a variety of topics, foster learning and to spark meaningful conversations,” one of the organisers said.
Eminent speakers scheduled to attend the session include Union minister of women and child development Smriti Zubin Irani, Indian classical dancer Ananda Shankar Jayant, Femina Miss India 2018 first runner-up Meenakshi Chaudhary, Indian inventor Uddhab Kumar Bharali, Indian para swimmer and Indian Open Para Swimming Championship gold medalist Mohammed Shams Alam Shaikh, IAS 2019 cadre Shrishti Jayant Deshmukh and Nagarjuna B. Gowda, Microsoft India managing director and corporate vice-president Rajiv Kumar and celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani.
