The Digital Learning Hub of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched online skill courses for freshers and undergraduate and postgraduate students to make them employment ready. The skill courses include communication skills, interview skills, resume writing and cover letter writing skills with an introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT).
The students and freshers will be able to learn from industry experts through these courses. Few of the courses are free while some are paid.
The course on communication skills will include extensive learning of both verbal and non-verbal communication skills. This is a free course that will make students ready for corporate and business communications. This course is of one week’s duration and will be in English.
The interview skill course will build confidence and impart knowledge on how to present oneself with the right answers to tough interview questions. This course is specially designed for freshers and comes for free. This is also a free course in English.
The free course on resume and cover letter writing will make freshers and students job-ready. It will teach the students and freshers to design their resumes in the correct format. The course will also focus on various aspects of making a resume for different sectors. Students will also learn to write an effective cover letter via this course. It is also a week-long course in English.
The introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) is a very popular course where TCS has selected Python as the primary programming language. The course includes case studies of various domains such as smart cities, smart environment, home automation, logistics, smart energy, retail, smart agriculture etc. It is especially for students pursuing engineering or have completed a degree course in engineering. This is a paid course with a duration of eight weeks. The course fee is Rs 17,700.
