SWAYAM is a programme initiated by the Union government to ensure access, equity and quality in education for students who do not have access to teachers and learning tools. It offers online courses for school students, college goers and working professionals who wish to upgrade their skills.

The platform has roped in qualified teachers and offers free study materials to students. It offers several hundred Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) to help students achieve their desired learning goals.

According to NTA’s website, SWAYAM also seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.
