The Supreme Court on Friday permitted the National Medical Commission (NMC) to extend its last date for NEET PG medical admissions 2022-23 upto 25 November, 2022.

The National Medical Commission in its plea sought extension as the pandemic lockdown and restrictions had delayed the initiation of the NEET PG counselling for academic session of 2020-2021 and in 2021-22.

A bench comprising Justices DY Chandrachud and Hima Kohli who overheard the petition approving the NMC’s request for extending the NEET PG admission 2022 deadline.

On 7 October, 2022 the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) advised state counselling authorities to conduct NEET PG counselling in their states according to the timeline uploaded on the NMC website, nmc.org.in, for preventing further delay in their admission procedure.
