Mr. Santosh Kumar (Plus Two Coordinator & Computer Science Teacher of St. Xavier's School, Doranda) is the new 'Guinness World Records Title Holder' for successfully completing a 48 hour long computer programming lesson.
The GWR team has declared him as the “GUINNESS WORLD RECORD TITLE HOLDER” for the title "LONGEST COMPUTER PROGRAMMING LESSON." The existing record was 24 hours. They gave him a target of 30-40 hours. Mr. Santosh Kumar began the class on 21 January 2024 (9 am) and took class till 23 January 2024 (9:15 am). The record made is 48 Hours 15 Minutes. The students were taught JAVA programming language which is a part of the ICSE Syllabus.
Santosh Kumar had applied for the Guinness World Records in July, which was later approved in November. Kumar organised the attempt to ensure that teaching and learning does not remain restricted to the fixed hours of the classroom. "Since I am a teacher, nothing could have been more enriching," he told GWR.
