Indian students pursuing BTech and MTech at any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or National Institute of Technology (NIT) in India will now be eligible for the ‘Samsung Star Scholarship that will cover all expenses related to tuition fees, examinations and hostel accommodation for one academic year.
The scholarship is valued at Rs 2 lakh and is extendable if students fulfill certain criteria for the subsequent years of the course.
The initiative by Samsung India is aimed at supporting Indian students to gain better knowledge of technology.
Original application forms must be sent as a hard copy (print format) to Samsung via post. Scanned copies of the complete application form along with supporting documents must be mailed to star.scholar@samsung.com. Selected candidates will be alerted by the company via post.
Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must be an Indian student.
- Candidates should maintain their SGPA and CGPA rating 5 or above.
- Candidates must be a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya or a student of IIT or NIT pursuing a full-term BTech or dual degree (BTech and MTech). The scholarship is open only to students of technology.
Documents required:
- Filled application form with an attested photograph of the candidate along with the signature of the candidate’s dean of academics.
- Self-attested copy of the candidate’s Class X and XII CBSE mark sheets.
- Self-attested copy of JEE Advanced ranking certificate.
- Copy of the final admission letter of the candidate’s institute.
- A signed cancelled cheque of the candidate’s bank account where the scholarship is to be transferred.
- Copy of candidate’s Aadhaar Card and PAN card.
- A letter from the candidate stating the reason for qualification and the impact of the scholarship if chosen.
Application forms will be available on the website from November 10, 2021, and the last date for applying for the Star Scholarship is December 10, 2021.
