The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is scheduled to close the GATE 2024 application window for regular applicants for the GATE 2024 Exam today, 5 October 2023. Interested and eligible candidates who have yet to fill out the application form online can do so by visiting the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Candidates also have the option to submit their applications within the extended deadline of 13 October 2023. However, for applications being submitted after 5 October, an additional 'late fee' will be charged.

According to the schedule, the window to correct application forms will be available from 7 November to 11 November. The examination is scheduled to be held on 3, 4, 10, and 11 February 2024.

The verification of GATE 2024 application forms was initiated on 30 September and is set to conclude by 31 October. If applicants' forms do not meet the requirements for items such as photographs, signatures, photo IDs, or category certificates, they will be labelled as "defective." Affected candidates will have the chance to correct these errors to ensure their applications can proceed for further evaluation.

GATE 2024: How to fill

Step 1: Log on to the official GATE 2024 website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in

Step 2: On the homepage, locate and click on the "Login" link.

Step 3: Choose "Register here" for new registrations.

Step 4: Provide the required information and proceed to the application form.

Step 5: Upload all necessary details and documents within the application form.

Step 6: Complete the application fee payment and save the filled application form.

Step 7: Click on the link for the final submission.


Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree in engineering/technology or a master's degree in a relevant science subject. Candidates in the pre-final or final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to appear for GATE 2024. For candidates who have obtained or are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India, they must be currently in the 3rd year or higher or have completed a Bachelor's degree (with a duration of at least 3 years) in Engineering, Technology, Science, Arts, or Commerce.

Candidates must note, there is no age limit for GATE 2024 and no restriction on the number of attempts for GATE.
