The National Law School of Indian University Bengaluru (NLSIU Bengaluru) is set to conclude registration for the National Law School Admission Test (NLSAT 2024) tomorrow, February 24, 2024. Aspiring candidates for the 3-year LLB, 2-year MA Public Policy, and PhD programmes for the academic year 2024-25 must complete their applications before the deadline. The NLSAT application form link is available on the official website, admissions.nls.ac.in.
Scheduled for March 17, 2024, from 10AM to 12.30PM, the NLSAT exam will take place in centres across the country. The university has confirmed that the academic session for the 3-year LLB programme will commence on July 1.
Application Fees
- ₹2,500 for LLB and MPP courses, with reduced fees of ₹2,000 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, EWS categories.
- Candidates applying for PhD courses in law and interdisciplinary studies are required to pay a registration fee of ₹3,000.
The final admission list, based on NLSAT 2024 scores, is expected to be published in May, as announced by NLSIU.
For those eyeing the PhD programme, the entrance test will consist of a 150-minute duration for a 100-marks question paper. Research aptitude and essay writing on relevant topics in law and other disciplines will carry 50 marks each.
Successful candidates, securing 50% and above in aggregate in the written test, will proceed to the evaluation stage of their research proposal. This will be followed by an oral presentation before a panel of experts, as per the schedule provided by NLSIU.
With a total of 8 PhD seats on offer, split between 4 in PhD Law and 4 in PhD Interdisciplinary, the selection process takes into consideration various elements, including NLSAT-PhD scores, research proposals, and oral presentations, each carrying distinct weightage in the final decision.
