The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2023. Interested candidates now have until October 31, 2023 to complete the registration process. The application form is available on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
This registration deadline extension comes in response to representations submitted by many candidates. The NTA statement said, "Therefore, in continuation to the public notice dated September 30, 2023 regarding submission of online application form for UGC NET December 2023 for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Assistant Professor (AP), NTA has decided to extend the last date for submission of online application form for UGC NET December 2023, enabling the aspiring candidates to apply for the said exam."
The revised schedule for NTA UGC NET December 2023 is as follows:
For the application fee, candidates from the general category will need to pay ₹1,150, while candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) will need to submit ₹600. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and third gender candidates are required to pay ₹325 as the application fee.
The UGC NET 2023 exam for the December session is scheduled to be conducted by NTA from December 6 to December 22, 2023.
