The Rajasthan High Court has upheld the validity of the Rajasthan NEET PG 2024 merit list, dismissing a petition alleging discrepancies in the state counselling process. The court ruled on December 6, 2024, that there is no apparent arbitrariness or illegality in the merit list issued by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

Following the court’s decision, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, released the provisional allotment results for 1,506 candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, and postgraduate diploma courses under NEET PG 2024.

The petition was filed by a group of 45 medical officers claiming errors in the state merit list published on November 22. The petitioners argued that bonus marks, awarded for medical officers serving in rural or difficult areas, were not correctly reflected, leading to significant changes in rank positions. The altered ranks allowed some candidates with lower positions in the All India Merit List to rank higher in the state list.

However, the court dismissed the allegations, stating that the alterations were inevitable due to the uniform application of the bonus mark system. The decision also lifted the earlier stay on the counselling process, allowing SMS Medical College to proceed with the allotment of seats.

Candidates who appeared for the counselling process can now check the provisional results on the official SMS Medical College portal. Admissions are offered in MD, MS, and PG diploma courses as part of the first round of Rajasthan NEET PG counselling.
