On Teachers' Day, President Droupadi Murmu emphasised that teaching talent development in one's home tongue might be more effective in the fields of science, literature, and social sciences. During her speech at the National Teachers Awards ceremony, she thanked her teachers for helping her become the first girl from her community to attend college.
Murmu further mentioned that India has one of the biggest educational systems in the world. In order to recognise their distinctive contributions to school education, she gave 46 chosen recipients the National Awards to Teachers in 2022. On Teachers' Day, the Ministry of Education (MoE) hosts a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan to present awards to the nation's top educators who have been chosen after a rigorous, open, and online three-stage selection process.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed her wish that more talented individuals would choose the noble profession of teaching and she affirmed that our teachers' efforts would help us reach new heights in the field of education. On the eve of Instructors' Day, Murmu remarked in a message that our teachers are constantly working to increase their skills and knowledge through fresh research, trials, and innovations.
"On the occasion of Teacher's Day, I extend my warm wishes to all the teachers in our country. I hope that more talent joins the noble profession of teaching. I extend my wishes again to all teachers. It is due to their efforts that responsible citizens emerge, who are ready to work for the welfare of the nation in every possible manner," she said.
"Our teachers are continuously trying to improve their capabilities and proficiency through new research, experiments and innovations. Through the National Education Policy-2020, changes are being brought to our education system. It is also providing opportunities for the inclusion of Indian cultural values and languages in our education system. I am confident that the efforts of our teachers will help us achieve new heights in the field of education," she noted.
