The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has postponed the Odisha Civil Services Preliminary Examination due to the impending severe cyclonic storm Dana. The examination was scheduled to be held on October 27. A notificiation has been issued by the commission in this regard.
As per the official notification, the new date of the examination will be issued after seven days on the official website. Once the fresh date for the exam is notified, candidates will be able to check it on opsc.gov.in.
The examination will be held in three stages, i.e. Preliminary, Mains and Interview. Candidates who qualify Prelims will be called in for the Mains and candidates who qualify Mains will be called in for Interview.
To appear in the examination, candidates must have attained a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognised university.
According to IMD, Cyclone ‘Dana’ is likely to make landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra port, a distance of around 70km, early Friday.
In response to the cyclone's movement, the Odisha government has expedited evacuation efforts in the coastal districts of Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Puri and Jagatsinghpur.
