Like the previous year, JEE Main 2025 is expected to be held in two sessions. While the first session is expected to be conducted in the last week of January, the second session will be held in April.

However, JEE Main 2025 will witness a change in the exam pattern. The NTA will remove the optional question in Section B of the exam, a format that had been implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide flexibility to students.

Till 2024, candidates were allowed to attempt any five out of ten questions per subject in Section B. However, from JEE Main 2025, candidates will have to answer all five questions per subject in section B without any selection option for Paper 1 (BE/B Tech) Paper 2A (B Arch) and Paper 2B (B Planning). This marks a return to the pre-pandemic format.

Every year, JEE Main exam is held twice a year and the best score of a candidate from the two sessions will be considered for ranking and admission.

The NTA will soon release the exam calendar for 2025 on its official website. Once the exam calendar is released, candidates can check the official website of NTA at nta.ac.in. The agency conducts various entrance examinations throughout the year to admit eligible students to different courses across higher educational institutes. This includes JEE Main Exam, NEET UG, CUET UG and UGC NET Exam.
