The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory to guide students facing issues with Aadhaar authentication during JEE Main 2025 registration. Many applicants have reported technical problems arising from a mismatch between their names on Aadhaar cards and their Class 10 certificates. The advisory provides steps to help candidates resolve these issues smoothly.
The JEE Main 2025 registration process for Session 1 is underway and will remain open until November 22, 11.50 PM. Candidates can register on the official NTA website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Session 1 of JEE Main 2025 is set to take place between January 22 to January 31, 2025, followed by Session 2 from April 1 to April 8, 2025.
Steps to Address Aadhaar Name Mismatch
For those encountering a name mismatch pop-up during Aadhaar authentication, the NTA advises candidates to follow these steps:
- Close the Pop-Up Box: When the pop-up appears, close it.
- Re-Enter Name: Enter the name exactly as it appears on the Aadhaar card in the new window that appears. This step ensures both the name from the Aadhaar and Class 10 certificate are captured, allowing the registration to proceed.
The pop-up includes a message prompting students to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra if they wish to update their Aadhaar name. However, the NTA has ensured that entering the correct name from the Aadhaar will allow candidates to continue their registration without delay.
Password Guidelines for JEE Main Application
For password security, the NTA has outlined specific requirements:
- Passwords must be 8 to 13 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one numeric digit, and one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*-).
- Applicants also need to select a security question and answer to facilitate password recovery.
With these guidelines and the corrective measures for Aadhaar issues, the NTA aims to streamline the JEE Main 2025 registration process, helping applicants complete their applications without technical obstacles.
