The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the centre and city-wise results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) on its official website. The results have been declared following the directives of the Supreme Court of India.
Initially, the results were published on June 4. The apex court is currently hearing several petitions about the alleged irregularities in the conduct of the exam, including paper leak, reported PTI.
Over 24 lakh candidates appeared in the examination that was held on May 5 throughout the country at 4750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad.
The Supreme Court had ordered NTA to release the results while masking the identities of the aspirants saying it wanted to ascertain whether candidates appearing at allegedly tainted centres secured more marks than those writing the exam elsewhere, a PTI report mentioned.
The apex court will resume hearing pleas seeking cancellation, re-test and and a court-monitored probe into the allegations of malpractice in the prestigious exam from July 22.
