The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the much-awaited registration for the JEE Main 2025 January Session (Session 1), with applications available on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can apply until November 22, 2024 (9 PM), with the application fee payment window extending until 11:50 PM on the same day.
JEE Main 2025 Session 1 - Important Dates
- Application Window: October 28 to November 22, 2024
- Fee Payment Deadline: November 22, 2024
- City of Exam Announcement: First week of January 2025
- Issue of Admit Card: Three days before the exam date
- Exam Dates: January 22 to January 31, 2025
- Result Declaration: By February 12, 2025
The JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The NTA has outlined the detailed exam structure for Paper 1 (for Engineering) and Paper 2 (for Architecture and Planning):
- Section A: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Section B: Numerical-value-based questions
Both sections include negative markings for incorrect answers, emphasising careful response selection.
JEE Main scores are critical for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other recognised engineering institutions across India. Additionally, qualifying in JEE Main is mandatory for those aiming to take the JEE Advanced 2025 for admission into the prestigious IITs.
