The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the exam schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 shortly on its official website, nta.ac.in. A recent notification issued on October 17, 2024, confirms the official website for the exam and introduces significant changes in the exam pattern.
Major Changes in JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern
One key update is the removal of optional questions in Section B of the exam, a format that had been implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide flexibility to students. Until 2024, candidates could attempt any 5 out of 10 questions per subject in Section B. However, starting with JEE Main 2025, candidates will now be required to answer all 5 questions per subject in Section B without any selection option for Paper 1 (BE/B Tech), Paper 2A (B Arch), and Paper 2B (B Planning), marking a return to the pre-pandemic format.
The JEE Main exam is typically held twice a year, and JEE Main 2025 will follow the same pattern, with the best score from the two phases being considered for admission to JEE Advanced. Specific dates for the exam will be published soon on the NTA's website.
Application Process
The application process for the first phase of JEE Main 2025 will begin shortly. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official website for registration details and exam dates.
