Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 in Salt Lake is now a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) hub offering a Domestic Data Entry Operator course.
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has set up skill hubs at various central government-funded schools to offer free vocational training to school dropouts. The Skill Hub initiative has been launched under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 on January 1.
The certified skill courses will be offered to school pass-outs as well as school dropouts. Youths who have passed school and not joined any other regular degree course can enrol for the programme. Graduates not pursuing further higher studies can also join. It will prepare the youth for jobs and entrepreneurial endeavours. This is in line with the National Education Policy 2020 that aims to make the youth of India job ready with professional skills.
Several initiatives have already been implemented across the education sector under NEP 2020,
Skill labs are also being set up and created in the schools which can be accessed by other schools as well.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Salt Lake will offer Domestic Data Entry Operator course to dropout youths of any government, private, CBSE or Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. Candidates aged 15 to 29 can join this course for free.
The classes will be held after school hours and on completion of the course candidates will be awarded certificates by NSDC.
The current students and their parents of Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 Salt Lake have been asked to spread the word about the course in their locality, community and among acquaintances. Interested candidates may visit the school for more details.
After completing this course, candidates will get job opportunities in various IT companies. As data entry operators, individuals will be responsible to provide daily work reports. They will be responsible for electronic entry of data from the client side to the office site or vice-versa. Individual tasks vary depending on the size and structure of the organisation.
NSDC has tied up with IT companies to provide vocational training to the youth of the country. NSDC is a body functioning under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It is a public-private partnership that aims to provide vocational training.
