The Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the NMC published its CBME rules 2023 paper on Tuesday, announcing the new schedule. For MBBS admissions in 2023, the NMC NExT exam will be held in February 2028

According to the academic calendar published by the National Medical Commission (NMC) in its Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) regulations 2023, the new batch of MBBS students enrolling in medical colleges this year will take the National Exit Test (NExT) Step 1 in February 2028 and the NExT Step 2 in February 2029.

The MBBS class that joined this year was originally scheduled to show up for the next exam in December 2027 or January 2028. However, the NMC has removed the Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER) 2023, which contained the schedule.

The Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the NMC published its CBME rules 2023 paper on Tuesday, announcing the new schedule. For MBBS admissions in 2023, the NMC NExT exam will be held in February 2028.

To become qualified physicians, medical students, and trainees must demonstrate a number of specified abilities, which are defined in the CBME standards for 2023.

As part of the CBME, students advance according to their performance against predetermined competencies.
