The NMC has directed the institutes to chalk out an annual schedule of activities under the Abhiyan and carry out awareness programmes for students, faculty and other staff of the college.

The medical colleges will have to submit a comprehensive report on the actions taken to Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Higher Education and National Medical Commission.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with the National Medical Commission, will establish Tobacco Cessation Centres (TCCs) at all the medical colleges across the country. These centres will be critical in advancing public health by assisting individuals in quitting tobacco use and thus reducing tobacco-related diseases.
