NMC extends application deadline for new/renewal MBBS courses, colleges, and seat increase

The National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday issued a notice extending the deadline for applications for new undergraduate MBBS programmes, the opening of new medical colleges, increasing the number of medical seats at existing institutions, and renewing of academic courses whose recognition is pending - for the upcoming academic year or 2023-24. The Commission released the notice on NMC's official website.

The NMC has stated in its notification that the medical evaluation and rating board of the National Medical Commission has decided to extend the date and time for acceptance of the applications up to 31 August till 6 PM, after thorough consideration. Prior to the registration deadline in August, applications were accepted till 21 July 2022.

Applications from medical colleges must be accompanied by the following documents:

• Essentiality Certificate
• Consent of Affiliation (CoA) in the prescribed format
• Details of Hospital

NMC New MBBS Course AY 2023-24: Application Process

Institutions looking to apply for new MBBS course registration can follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NMC

Step 2: Click on the link of the online application for new MBBS Courses 2023-24

Step 3: Select application for renewal/continuation/ or recognition of MBBS courses for AY 2022-23/2023-24

Step 4: A new page will display, click on ‘I acknowledge’ and login to the portal

Step 5: Fill out all the details with relevant information

Step 6: Submit the application form

Step 7: Download the application as a PDF and take a printout as well
