In a major change in timetable, the National Medical Commission has decided on preponing the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) exam. The examination will now be held on June 23 instead of July 7, 2024. The examination will be conducted at various centres across the country and will determine the eligibility of candidates for admission to various postgraduate medical courses.
Candidates appearing in the examination will be able to check the notice of the change in exam date at the official website of the National Medical Commission.
The cut-off date for completion of internship has been set on August 14, 2024 for students to become eligible to appear in NEET PG 2024 exam.
The examination will be conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) while the counselling of students will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The exam will be held in a computer-based mode.
Following the completion of the exam, the results will be declared on July 15, 2024 and the counselling process will commence from August 5. It will conclude on October 15, 2024 and the academic session will begin from September 16.
Exam Pattern
Students will have to answer 200 Multiple Choice Questions and the duration of the exam will be 3 hours. There will be negative marking for every wrong answer. For four wrong answers, marks of one correct answer will be deducted.
