The mock exam for the National Exit Test (NExT) has been cancelled. Announcing that the NExT mock test is set to be held on 28 July stands cancelled. A National Medical Commission (NMC)’s official said that the registration fee will be refunded.
Earlier on 13 July, NMC had deferred NExT exam till further notice on the advice of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The mock test was scheduled for the students to have an idea before appearing for the actual NExT exam 2023. The AIIMS NExT exam 2023 will be conducted in two steps – step 1 and step 2. While NExT step 1 will be a computer-based examination, NExT step 2 will be a practical/clinical examination.
NExT will replace the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) PG for admission to postgraduate programmes and for practicing medicine in the country. NExT will begin with the batch passing in 2024 and will have to be taken by all undergraduate (UG) MBBS students.
