The National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed the medical colleges to threaten the completion date of the MBBS programme in order to set the date for the National Exit Test (NExt 2023) exam. In December of last year, the commission released draught regulations for postgraduate medical programmes, medical licenses, and postgraduate courses.
The commission stated that the completion date of the MBBS course is necessary in order to finalise the NExT exam date. It has therefore asked all DMEs to provide information regarding the anticipated completion date of the MBBS programme at all medical colleges in their respective states and union territories.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG 2023) will be replaced by the draft regulation of NExT, which was released in December 2022. The exam will be divided into conceptual and practical portions in accordance with the regulations. The NExT practical exam will take place in the second week of March, while the theory exam will take place in the second week of December.
