According to an NMC announcement posted on social media, the National Exit Test (NExT) exam will be administered by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The announcement states that the NExT exam will take place in the second half of this year. For admission to postgraduate programmes in medical colleges across the nation, the exam will take the place of the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG).
Dr. Rohan Krishnan, an orthopaedic surgeon in New Delhi and advisor to the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), a network of postgraduate medical students and doctors, shared the notice and asserted that it was true "as per sources" and requested clarification from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the ministry of health and family welfare regarding the exam's specifics, including dates, eligibility requirements, patterns, and more.
"In accordance with the notice from May 26, 2023, the meeting was conducted on June 7, 2023, and it is hereby announced that the National Exit Test (NExT) is set to take place in the second half of 2023. The message stated that the full timetable, including with its rules and regulations, would be released soon."
