Seven government and private medical colleges that obtained letters of permission (LOP) late for the undergraduate MBBS and BDS programs in the NEET UG counseling 2023 were added today, according to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

"It is to inform that some Government/Private Colleges who received LOP late for undergraduate courses, i.e. after the start of Round-1 of UG Counselling 2023, could not contribute their seats on MCC portal for Round-1 of counselling," the MCC stated in its most recent notification.

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of DGHS will fill these universities' seats during Round 2 of Undergraduate Counseling in 2023.

The commission further pointed out that some medical schools in Tamil Nadu were refusing to accept All India Quota (AIQ) applicants for MBBS admission who had completed Class 12 under the jurisdiction of another state board and did not have a migration certificate.

According to the MCC, a migration certificate is not required in order to be admitted to AIQ seats at medical colleges. "All medical colleges to permit admissions of AIQ students even without the migration certificate," it further demanded. Registration for the second round of NEET UG counseling will start on August 9 and last until August 14.

From August 10 to August 15, candidates may select and lock their top-choice medical schools and programs on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
