The NTA officially announced on 15 December 2022 regarding NEET UG 2023 Examination date which will take place on 7 May 2023. The date was decided in consideration to provide students with time to prepare for the medical entrance examination.
However, students who appeared for NEET UG 2022 and want to reappear again this year didn't take the news of the official exam date for NEET UG 2023 well. They are seeking 2-3 postponements of the NEET UG 2023 Examination. They took to Twitter to make their demand heard by using hashtags such as #NEETUG2023POSTPONE #POSTPONENEETUG2023
On Change.org, a group of applicants has started a petition calling for the postponement of the NEET UG exams. 650+ candidates had already signed.
According to some students, the rise in COVID-19 cases in India has put enormous pressure on them to take the NEET UG 2023 exam.
Will the authority postpone NEET UG 2023?
The NTA has been working to restore the pre-pandemic routine for medical admissions. Therefore, it is unlikely that NTA will change the date of the NEET UG 2023 exam. The request to postpone the NEET 2023 has not been addressed by NTA. In fact, the exam will only be conducted once annually, on 7 May 2023 for the academic year 2023–24, according to an RTI answer from NTA.
The admit card for NEET 2023 will probably be made available by the first week of May. In Pen and Paper format (offline), the NEET UG entrance exam will take place in 499 locations. NEET UG 2023 is expected to get more than 21 lakh applicants.
