The National Testing Agency (NTA) has received various representations from candidates to provide facility for correction/change of Category in the Online Application Form of National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test [NEET (UG)] – 2022.

According to a notification issued by NTA, in continuation, therefore, of the Public Notice dated May 24, 2022, it has been decided to provide another opportunity to the candidates to correct/change their Category by themselves in their respective Online Application Forms for NEET (UG) – 2022, as per the details mentioned below:

  • Examination: NEET (UG) -- 2022
  • Duration for correction in Particulars: June 14 to June 16 2022 (up to 09:00 PM)
  • Fields for Corrections: Category

The candidates who had not been able to mention their actual Category correctly while filling up the Online Application Form, by mistake or due to non-availability of Category Certificate, may avail the opportunity as mentioned above, to mention their actual Category themselves in their respective Online Application Forms for NEET (UG) – 2022 and also upload the scanned copy of the Certificate.

The candidates who may not have been able to obtain Category Certificate from the competent authority, may upload a self-declaration in the prescribed format.

The candidates are allowed to make the corrections latest by June 16, 2022 (up to 09:00 P.M.). Thereafter, no correction will be entertained, says the notification. The additional fee (wherever applicable) shall be paid by the candidate concerned either through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM.

"Since it is a one-time facility extended to the candidates to avoid any hardships to them, the candidates are informed to do the correction very carefully, as no further chance for correction will be given to the candidates," adds the official notification

Students should also note that the final correction shall be taken into account only after payment of an additional fee wherever required (e.g. change of category from SC or ST to General or OBCNCL to General or EWS to General).
