NEET-PG 2021 counselling will be conducted in four rounds, including All India Quota (AIQ) rounds 1 and 2, AIQ Mop-Up round and AIQ StrayVacancy round. Candidates can check the detailed schedule on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
Students can start enrolling for counselling from January 12, 2022. Round 1 of the postgraduate counselling will be conducted from January 12 to 17, 2022. Applicants have to first register, select and lock their college preferences from the options available within January 17.
Verification of candidates by the respective institutes will be conducted between January 18 and January 19, 2022. This will be followed by the seat allotment process, on January 20 and 21. The results will be announced on January 22, 2022.
The second round of registrations will commence from February 3 to 7 and the results for the second round of counselling will be declared on February 12, 2022, followed by the third round from February 24 to 28, 2022.
Originally scheduled for October 2021, NEET PG 2021 counselling was postponed twice because of a petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the new OBC and EWS reservation policy announced by the Central government.
In its final verdict, the apex court on December 7, 2022, allowed the commission to start the counselling procedure with 27% OBC quota in All-India quota (AIQ) seats and 10% quota for candidates having an annual family income of less than Rs 8 lakh.
