The curriculum framework aspires to advance India's educational system by implementing the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) throughout the nation's schools, according to the NCF mandate document published on 29 April 2022.
The education ministry had earlier announced that the NCERT had begun the processes of developing National Curriculum Frameworks using a bottom-up method, wherein states and union territories (UTs) will be submitting their contributions based on gross root levels.
The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) is being created, according to the NCERT, utilising a vertical, bottom-up method and a paperless digital survey for the national curriculum (DiSaNK).
