Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary is observed as National Youth Day on January 12 every year. At 4 PM this afternoon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate open the 26th National Youth Day at Hubballi, Karnataka. "Viksit Yuva - Viksit Bharat" is the theme for National Youth Day in 2023.
The Indian government designated January 12 as National Youth Day in 1984, and every year since 1985, India has honoured this day as National Youth Day. The government stated that Swami's worldview and the principles for which he lived and campaigned "is really a significant source of inspiration for the Indian Youth Day."
The National Youth Day 2023 festival will take place from today, 12 January 2023 to 14 January 2023. It will be the spectacle of the youth summit, which will feature discussions on 5 G20 and Y20-related topics: the future of work, industry, innovation, and 21st-century skills; climate change and disaster risk reduction; peacebuilding and reconciliation; shared future youth in democracy and governance; and health and well-being.
