UGC NET 2024 Marks Normalisation Process

  1. Examinees are distributed across sessions to ensure an equal number of participants in each session. If necessary, candidates may be allocated to additional days or shifts.
  2. Results for each session are compiled in two formats: raw scores and percentile scores, based on the total raw scores. Percentiles are calculated for each candidate within their session using the formula: Total Percentile (TP1) = 100 × (Number of candidates in the session with a raw score equal to or less than t1) / (Total number of candidates in the session).
  3. The final UGC NET 2024 result is prepared by combining the percentile scores from all sessions. These NTA scores are used for further processing and allocation of certificates.

The UGC NET June 2024 exam took place from August 21 to September 5, covering a total of 83 subjects. A provisional answer key was released on September 11, and the final answer key is expected to be published along with the UGC NET result.

Candidates who successfully qualify will receive two certificates: the Lectureship (LS) certificate and the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) certificate. The JRF certificate remains valid for three years from the date of the result, while the LS certificate holds no expiration and is valid indefinitely for the position of Assistant Professor.
