How to download the result
- Visit the official website at admissions.nid.edu.
- Click on the ‘BDes DAT Prelims Result’ link displayed under the important updates tab.
- Login with your credentials (email address and DOB).
- The result will be displayed.
- Download and take a printout of it for future reference.
BDes DAT Prelims Tie-Break Policy
When two or more candidates have obtained the same score in the Prelims test, the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks;
- A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part B of the exam.
- If the previous step is unable to break the tie, then a higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part A of the exam.
- If still none of this can break the tie then both the candidates will be given the same rank.
Candidates shortlisted in the DAT Prelims will have to appear for the second stage which is the Mains exam.

The NID DAT final score which determines the candidate’s eligibility for admission to the BDes programme in the National Institute of Design considers both the Prelims and Mains examination performance. Forty percent of the final score is based on the Prelims exam and the remaining sixty percent comes from the Mains exam.
